Actions taken by Halyps Cement and Italcementi Group for the fire victims:
- Halyps Cement actively participated in the effort which began throughout the country to reconstruct the fire hit areas. Halyps Cement contributed to this effort by offering 3,500 tons of cement for infrastructure projects or/and residences in the afflicted areas, joining in along with the country’s business community via the information and coordination office set up by SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) in cooperation with the Emergency Aid Fund established for this purpose
- Additionally we started by purchasing goods (medicines, clothing, foods) and we also published an internal announcement for our staff in case they wanted to offer such goods. Our staff responded positively and they offered lots of those goods.
- Furthermore, we invited all of our Company’s employees to state at the Human Resources Department the amount they wish to donate as an economic aid for Peloponnesus fire victims and the amount gathered was a very significant one. Also CCB sent us some parcels with materials (clothing etc..) for the kids of the destroyed villages.
- Following the fires in August in Greece, the Hellenic SCR Network in the general context of the effort made to create joint actions synergies among its members and following demands made by its members, has proceeded to an unprecedented in the Greek reality initiative. It has asked all its members to participate in a joint action that will be implemented by the reliable and experienced non-governmental organization PRAKSIS and aims at providing comfort to certain groups of people in specific regions of fires attached prefectures.Halyps Cement being member of the Hellenic CSR Network, joined this initiative with a part of the amount sent by Fondazione Italcementi which contributed financially to this effort.
- Additionally PRAKSIS provide us with another program called Planting project . Halyps Cement will also participate to this action with the rest amount offered by Fondazione Italcementi.
