Consequently, all Italcementi Group activities in Greece have taken on the commitment to follow and respect Corporate Social Responsibility principles and values in their daily activities entire range.


In the context of Corporate Social Responsibility policy, we recognize that promoting equality between the two genders constitutes an important tool to boost employment and sustainable development in our organization.

For this reason, Halyps Bulding Materials S.A. participated in a pioneer  State program to strengthen equality at work. This program involves positive actions on gender equality by enterprises and was developed by the  General Secretariat for Equality, of the Interior Ministry.

The Program "Positive actions on equal opportunities between men and women in small, medium-sized and large enterprises" is integrated in Measure 1, Axis 5 of the Operational Program "Employment and Vocational Training" by the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection, co-financed by 75% from the European Social Fund (ESF) and by 25% from the Greek State, under the 3rd CSF. The General Secretariat for Equality is responsible for the project implementation.

Project financing                                                                                      
The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund. The total project budget stands at 14.269.040,00 €. 75% of the overall budget is public expenditure and the rest 25% is private participation.

The General Secretariat for Equality is the competent government body to plan, implement and monitor gender equality policies application in all sectors.

Program Objective

  • support working women
  • empower and encourage working women
  • reinforce their working profile
  • draw up a personal career plan
  • further develop their professional skills 
  •  work-life balance under a new perspective regarding the role of both parents. Responsibilities and roles distribution between parents, use of parental leaves and benefits for both genders.


The actions implemented in the framework of Halyps Equality Plan are the following:

  • Social Responsibility Standard Application according to the Standard SA 8000.
  • Information and awareness raising on equality issues for all employees and the broader public in general, in relation to both genders social responsibility and equality issues.
  • Consulting support and mental empowerment for female employees in the company in order to deal with lack of quality issues and support to find work-life balance.
  • Training in thematic fields that conform to the Company’s object or/and female employees’ needs in the company for the purpose of skills development so as to facilitate the terms and conditions to upgrade their labour post.
