Participation of Halyps Cement as one of the sponsor at the 11th Students Environmental Conference with subject "Biodiversity in the Environment"
The Environmental Organization ‘Clean Up Greece’ has established since 2000 the Annual Students Environmental Conference in order to sensitize, inform and invite young people’s participation in environmental issues. To date ten Students Conferences have taken place in a row with great success.
In every Conference and in every city it takes place 300-350 students participate from various state and private schools. Students get information, training and participate in environmental issues. Approximately 8000 students have totally participated to date in the Annual Students Environmental Conference.
The 11th Students Conference took place in Athens on 
March 5, 2010, on Friday at the Cultural Center of Athens Municipality. Official guests of ‘Clean Up Greece’ were the Mayor of Athens, the President of Athens Municipality Cultural Organization, the President of the European Parliament Working Group on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development, a representative of the Ministry for Environment, Energy and Climate Change and the Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Youth, who welcome the participating students with a brief address.
Halyps cement was one of the sponsors of this event through its CSR and SD policy and initiatives and due to close collaboration with Clean up Greece NGO and education community.During the event students actively participated through presentations, questions and workshops.
