Quality

 At Mandras’ quarry are produced more than (10) different types of standard products, among which we indicatively mention:

  • Concrete Sand (0/4)
  • Gravel (11/32)
  • Fine Gravel (4/16)
  • Mortar Sand (0/4)
  • Railway Ballast (32/50)
  • Road Construction Aggregates (0/22, and at customer’s request)
  • Blocks of stone  – Stones (45/125, and at customer’s request)
  • Aggregates for Cement production
  • Aggregates for Lime production

 The quarries aggregates materials in the frames of conformity with the 89/106/EOK directive of the European Communities Council, should produce and supply the following aggregates:

  • concrete aggregates according to the standard  ELOT EN 12620
  • mortar aggregates according to the standard  ELOT EN 13139
  • asphalt aggregates according to the standard  ELOT EN 13043
  • aggregates for road construction according to the standard  ELOT EN 13242 as well as
  • aggregates for railway line works according to the standard  ELOT EN 13450 and 
  • blocks of stone (e.g. for harbour work etc) according to the standard ELOT EN 13383-1 with a Production Control System (factory  Production  Control) and CE Mark.

 
Concrete aggregate should comply with the requirements of the following regulations and standards:

KTS 1997 (OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC FΕΚ 315V/17-4-97) article 4 and 3 Regulation of Concrete Technology (ΚΤΣ)
Draft of Greek Standard ELOT 408 Graded Aggregates for common concretes

However, it should be mentioned that the new European Regulation of Concrete Technology ELOT En-206 mentions that concrete aggregates should comply with the requirements of the following European standard:

ELOT EN 12620 Aggregates  for  concrete

The current official provisions for asphalt aggregates works are the "Standard Technical Specifications"  A250, A260, A265 of 1966 (Ministry of Public Works, Department C3b). Αs far as the anti – slipping traffic layers are concerned, a relative directive is issued by the MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT PLANNING AND PUBLIC WORKS (December 1985). 
  
Furthermore, as far as the road construction aggregates are concerned, that are intended to be used as base and sub - base, they should meet the following requirements as they are described below:
