Informative conference for Self leveling concrete
25 July 2011

July 25th 2011, a one day informative conference took place by Sika Hellas at its facilities in Kryoneri in collaboration with Et Beton (our RMC activity), on the self leveling concrete with the trade name Viscochape.

The conference was divided in two parts. The 1st part included a presentation of the material and its applications, while the 2nd part included an outdoors display with 2 m3 Viscochape layers application supplied by Et Beton, on 10 m2 surface properly formulated, with all the accessories of in-floor heating. The surface was layered fast and very easily by the working team of a well known-company in in-floor heating.

The material is characterized by very high liquidity allowing it to compact and self level with its own weight, while at the same time remaining cohesive, without separation or bleeding, constituting, thus, an excellent solution for fast filling and with a very good result, as it ensures full and correct coverage of pipes. Besides the self leveling cement mortar Viscochape, Et Beton offers floor coating material  (cement mortar), in accordance with the standard ELOT ΕΝ 13813, in two main types: Conventional weighing ~2.100 Kg/m3 with resistance categories from C5 to C40 and Light weighing  ~1.600-1.800 Kg/m3 with resistance categories from C5 to C25. The material’s advantages are the following:

  • Homogeneous material
  • Stable & controlled quality
  • Pumpable (& with a special, more handy press
  • Very high filling speed (concreting)
  • Low labor cost
  • Without ‘‘failure’’ of materials
  • Clean worksite
  • Quaranteed quantity
